Steel Billets, sometimes known as ingots, are of no practical use until they are formed into useful shapes and sizes. For example, they are rolled to become steel bars or rolled further to produce wire rods which are used to line our car tyres. Whether they are hot rolled or cold rolled it is dependent on the tensile strength and hardness requirement. Steel billets have many different quality types which is dependent on its constituents. Some may have low carbon and others higher. Sorting the billets according to quality requires an experienced handler to reallocate the billets based on the given limited space.
